"The ZFE creates a crime of poverty": 35 deputies propose suspending the measure

" It is this type of testimony that pushed us to write this transpartisan proposal, with MPs from the Republican right , Liot and Modem ", comments DR MP Sylvie Bonnet, the first signatory.

According to her, "while automatic verbalization will begin in 2026, the greatest confusion still reigns among road users" . Between the lines of their proposal, these deputies are therefore asking for clarification. In support, these twelve metropolises "concerned since January ^1, 2025 by the first stage of implementation of this measure" , which do not apply the measure in practice .

Other arguments put forward by these deputies, "the residents concerned do not necessarily have the means to change their car immediately" , notes Sylvie Bonnet. The bill puts forward in this regard the risk of creating a "crime of poverty" , caused when a user is "too poor to have the right car that gives the right to drive!"

As for the timetable for examining this bill submitted to the Sustainable Development Committee , nothing has been decided to date. If this text is not proposed during a cross-party week of the National Assembly, "I would like to place it in a parliamentary niche, but I don't know more at the moment," Sylvie Bonnet explained to Le Figaro.
